The start of a new school year school will hopefully be filled with anticipation of learning new things and celebrating new milestones for students. For some families in our community the start of a new school year can also be filled with anxiety. The National Retail Federation estimates that the average family will spend $675 on new apparel and supplies. This is an 8% increase over previous years.
Hope’s Front Door is holding a school supply drive to help needy area families. These school supply donations will help families with limited resources defray back-to-school expenses. The school supply drive is part of Hope’s Front Door’s Best HOPE Campaign where we want to raise $20,000 to help area children access basic need items. Now until September 30, we hope to raise $20,000 to help more than 250 children with food and school supplies as well as access to medication, dental and vision healthcare . . . even financial literacy.
Children are our most valuable natural resource. Your donations of school supplies and funding will make a huge difference in the lives of our neighborhood children! https://goo.gl/BfZGPe
